Earlier this month, Steve and I took a weekend trip to Chapin, South Carolina for our 1-year wedding anniversary.  We stayed in a cute Airbnb on Lake Murray with the dogs for a peaceful getaway from the city.  This was our second visit-the first-a week after our wedding in June 2017.

We spent the entire weekend outside-relaxing on the patio, listening to the waves, and swimming.  It’s a low-key, rural lake town location with a tropical vibe. We love the feel of this place, making it perfect for our 1-year married celebration.

It’s crazy how fast time passes.  It feels like yesterday that we were going through all the planning and coordinating of our wedding. It was a stressful time but looking back, it was all worth it.

Our first year of marriage was wonderful and full of adventure.  We went on an epic honeymoon to South East Asia, added a second dog to our family, paid off all our debt, and worked our butts off.  We had a lot of fun and learned more and more about each other and our relationship.

We had our fair share of tough days, but I’d say it was probably the best year we’ve ever had together.  So much happened and it’s so exciting to think about what the future holds for us.

Steve supports me in my entrepreneurial journey and encourages me to push the limits and take opportunities as they come. I always try to encourage him with everything he wants to accomplish and empower him to continue moving forward.  I really couldn’t ask for a better partner and best friend.

It felt right to go back to the same spot we took our mini-moon in South Carolina to reflect, relax, and celebrate.  We’ve come a long way this past year in our relationship, careers, and lives.

While 12 months isn’t a long time in the grand scheme of things, I still wanted to honor our 1st year in a special way.  We have a lifetime ahead of us and so much to look forward to.
