The temperature here in Asheville is starting to drop and it feels like Fall is right around the corner. It’s a new season and I’m excited to get into a fresh routine. It’s time to get some new goals in place and a schedule to stick with.

I’ve been freelancing now for five months and I’m still trying to figure out a schedule that works best. I’ve noticed that I can stick to a routine for a week or two and then I need to switch things up so I don’t get bored.

I started planning my weeks out over the weekends beginning with a rundown of everyday tasks, major goals, the meal plan for the week, and workouts. Every week looks different and I’m enjoying the change of pace from time to time. I think there is something revitalizing about shaking up your routine. It can give you a new perspective and insight into what you want to accomplish.

Lately, there are three days a week that I work on my computer from 9 am to 4 pm. I feel like I’m able to get so much done when I’m focused and only have a limited amount of time to get the tasks done that I need to be completed. I work on client projects, writing for my websites, emailing, and reaching out to potential clients.

The other two days of the work week are meant to be more relaxed. Some weeks these days could include more client work, but typically I try to get cleaning and laundry done, get two workouts in, do admin work for my business, and run errands. I also volunteer at a local farmer’s market every Tuesday afternoon, which is a very nice change of scenery!

The Fall is a perfect time to start planning to spend my time in different areas. One special task I have this fall is to plan and book our honeymoon trip!? Some other goals I have this fall is to get out of the house more during the workday, continue to try new plant based recipes, put more money toward the student loans and savings account, and to increase the number of monthly digital marketing projects to take on.

The main point here is that sometimes you must switch up your routine to stay motivated. Planning is so much fun for me. I love the feeling of accomplishment. It fuels me to move forward and to stay excited. How are you changing up your schedule this Fall? Leave a comment below, I’d love to hear from you!
